Dolphins-10 Jets-6

Micheal Perlman/The Star Ledger

Oh boy where do I begin? What a horrible loss and what an utter disgrace! That was some way to respond to a 42 point defeat. Mark Sanchez looked like a deer in the headlights getting sacked six times, throwing an interception, and losing a fumble. Receivers were dropping balls , the offensive line was getting no push, it was an embarrassment! With the score 10-0 Sanchez actually threw a good pass to Holmes(who was wide open) in the end zone and he dropped it! Catch it with your hands Santonio! Not your chest!

As for the defense except for a miscommunication on the Brandon Marshall TD, they played awesome. They consistently got pressure on Henne and held him to only 55 yards passing for the whole game. They only yielded 131 yards to the Dolphins. They recovered three Miami fumbles and the offense could not capitalize. In theory this game should have been a blowout.

Moving forward I think most Jets fan are growing disgusted with OC Brian Schottenheimer. There has to be something said for his play calling when you do not attack an opponents weakness. In my preview I stated the Jets should not try to force throws down the field based on the weather. Well that's exactly what they did. Sanchez looked great earlier in the year but as the season wore on he is clearly regressing AGAIN! I'm not sure a change at OC would do anything now but maybe Ryan needs to take more control of the offense. He did it last year and saved the season. He should attend the meetings and tell Schotty what he thinks will and will not work against the upcoming defense. If the Jets somehow miss the playoffs and the offense continues to struggle, then they should no doubt fire Schotty and either promote Bill Callahan or bring in Josh McDaniels. As there remaining 3 games not one of them will be easy.
